Ocean Explorer Travel Maps, the reason behind them...

More and more people are taking to the world's oceans and enjoying the comfort and convenience of sailing in a well run floating hotel. But until recently, one thing was missing from the cruise experience - and that was a goodmap that will not only show you where you are going, but provide some background information about the places you will visit.

Guides that concentrate on coastlines and interesting sites within a short distance of the ports of call are just what a passenger on cruise ship needs.

Most of our sightseeing is at places near the sea. We want to know the names of the mountains and towns, the glacier-fed bays, the cliffs, estuaries, and other features that we are actually going to see. We also want details of the human and natural history, too, so that we can better understand the lands we are visiting.

Great place...but where are we?

The creator of Ocean Explorer Maps is a veteran leader of many cruises to Antarctica and the sub-Antarctic islands. He found that many passengers, while very satisfied with the experience, wanted to acquire a good map that would enable them to chart their route. Unfortunately, he had to tell them that no suitable map existed. The few maps that were available were either at the wrong scale, or featured unfamiliar Spanish place names. And so the "Antarctic Explorer" was born, an innovative map designed to meet the needs of these adventurers.

Our range now includes a growing variety of popular cruise destinations, such as Alaska, Spitsbergen, Southern South America, the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, and the Caribbean Islands, with others such as the Mediterranean, Baltics and British Isles on their way.
